The Park County Commission is now taking applications for District #3 County Commissioner. The term of office shall run from date of appointment until the November 2008 general election results have been certified. County application materials that will be used to assist the Commission in making an appointment are available at the office of the Park County Commission. To be eligible, applicants must be 18 years of age or older, a current resident of District #3, and have been a resident of District #3 for at least the previous two years. Application for the position closes on May 23, 2008, at 4:30 p.m. Any application materials are to be turned in to the Park County Commission administrative assistant.

2008 Fire SeasonThe 2008 season will be from March 1st to August 31st.

Carbella Bridge, Update: REPAIRS OF THE CARBELLA/TOM MINER BRIDGE OVER THE YELLOWSTONE RIVER HAVE BEEN COMPLETED. THE BRIDGE WHICH HAS BEEN CLOSED SINCE FEBRUARY 20, 2008, WILL BE OPEN AT NOON ON APRIL 28, 2008. Bridge use is limited to 6 tons and 15 mph traffic.

Trucks and equipment weighing more that 6 tons are required to use the designated truck route at Mile Marker 21 off Highway 89 South, to access the Tom Miner and Rock Creek area.

Register to vote! The June 3 primary election and Election Day in November are coming soon. To learn about absentee ballots, polling places, and more visit the Park Countys Clerk and Recorders office.

A 2006 citizen-initiated referendum petition suspended the Park County Growth Policy causing it to be placed on the November 2008 general election ballot. County residents should review the Growth Policy in preparation to cast their vote.
