March 2014 Flooding (NWS) County Officials indicate widespread and significant urban and small stream flooding across much of Park County. The flooding is a result of rapid lower elevation snow melt. The City of Livingston continues to experience significant flooding. This includes Park Street which as been flooded by Fleshman Creek. Residents along small streams and in low lying areas should remain alert to high water levels and flooding. Take precautions now to protect livestock and farm equipment.
Most Flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway! Flood waters are usually deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful enough to sweep vehicles off the road. When encountering flooded roads, make the smart choice: turn around...don't drown!
