BOOK RELEASE PARTY IN LIVINGSTON CELEBRATES NEW PHOTO HISTORY BOOK OF GARDINER AREA

08/17/2016 - BOOK RELEASE PARTY IN LIVINGSTON CELEBRATES NEW PHOTO HISTORY BOOK OF GARDINER AREA

The Friends of the Yellowstone Gateway Museum invite the public to a free book release event during the Art Walk this Friday, August 19 at the Flying Squirrel Gallery, 119 S. Main St. (upstairs), in downtown Livingston. The event celebrates the publication of “Photo History of Gardiner, Jardine, and Crevasse,” an updated reprint of the 1968 book by Bill and Doris Whithorn published by the Wan-I-Gan Press, Friends of the Yellowstone Gateway Museum. About 50 selected prints from the book will be on exhibit and available for print orders.

The reprint of the original book has larger, clearer photographs, additional 2016 photos, and revised text. The museum is grateful to many local residents who helped update the book.

The publication of the book celebrates the National Park Service centennial; Gardiner is situated at the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park.
