The Research Center holds a treasure trove of materials that relate to Park County, Montana and Yellowstone National Park. We are ready to help you uncover your family history or delve into a local or regional research topic.

Primary sources: voting ledgers from 1886-1945, business ledgers, and manuscript, ephemera, and audio-visual collections, including oral histories.

Publications: The library (non-circulating) holds more than 1,500 books (including rare books), magazines, and newspapers of Montana and Western history; Park County school yearbooks and newspapers.

Also available are the Doris Whithorn Curator Collection, Park County family research, vertical subject files, maps, and more. 

Our Photograph Collection is searchable (onsite) and prints can be ordered through Park Photography; see print price list here. Digital images may be emailed, please see below link for photo and reproduction fees. The Bill and Doris Whithorn Online Database, part of our Photograph Collection, is also accessible online.
