The Friends of the Yellowstone Gateway Museum is sponsoring a program by entrepreneur Katie Clemons entitled “Story Matters: How to Catch and Celebrate Life’s Moments,” on Wednesday, April 2, 6:30 PM, at the Livingston-Park County Public Library, 228 W. Calendar. This program is free and open to the public.

As a fifth generation Montanan, Clemons lives with her German husband and their son in a vintage airplane hangar near Livingston. She is an entrepreneur, story catcher and journal crafter seeking to revitalize the personal writing and storytelling movement. Clemons helps people around the world celebrate their stories through Gadanke.com, her company of award-winning, eco-savvy writing prompt journals. She blogs about journaling and intentional living at MakingThisHome.com.

Museum staff first heard about Clemons and her passionate approach of helping people record their stories from one of the museum’s oral history team members, Camden Easterling. Clemons’ website, Gadanke.com, not only includes information about her journals but readers can also listen to a TedX Talk that Clemons delivered in Minot, North Dakota, where she shared her passion and philosophy of catching stories. Attending this program will give you the tools (and contagious enthusiasm) that you need to capture your family’s stories.

This is the second program of the Yellowstone Gateway Museum’s Spring Speaker Series. The next program is entitled Mysteries of Yellowstone Lake Prehistory; this rescheduled program is slated for Thursday, April 17, 6:30 PM at the Livingston-Park County Public Library, 228 W. Calendar. Archaeologists Douglas MacDonald and Elaine Hale are the presenters. The fourth program, Stories of the Medical Profession in Park County, features Dr. Lindsay Baskett and Registered Nurse Betty Lahren and is held on Thursday, May 15. And the final program, Yellowstone’s Fossil Forests by photographer Lee Silliman, is held on May 28. Stay tuned for more details.
