MUSEUM HIRES EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

11/23/2020 - MUSEUM HIRES EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Yellowstone Gateway Museum of Park County recently hired an executive director. Mark Brammer, current Director of the Wyoming State Museum in Cheyenne, WY, begins his new position in Livingston on December 7, 2020.

Originally trained as an anthropologist, Mark has worked in several different museums, including the Children’s Museum in Indianapolis, The Field Museum in Chicago, and the Wyoming State Museum where he was the director. He has worked extensively in museums, including in England where he completed his MA in Museum Studies. His work focuses on the management of cultural resources and ways to make those resources accessible to all. Mark believes that museums are an integral part of the community and should be a welcome and inclusive space for everyone to enjoy.

The museum board, Friends of the Yellowstone Gateway Museum, staff, and volunteers are looking forward to introducing Mark to the communities of Park County and to working closely with him.
