Livingston: The Yellowstone Gateway Museum is partnering with Elk River Books for a special author event, “One Fine Page: An Evening with Park County Authors,” to commemorate the museum’s 40th Anniversary. The free event is slated for Thursday, June 1, beginning at 7:00 pm, with the doors opening an hour earlier, at 6:00 pm. The event is held at the museum, 118 W. Chinook.
Authors who currently or once resided in Park County will read one compelling page from one of their published works. The event showcases the writing of local authors, representing different genres and topics, not necessarily about history. The idea originated with David Quammen who hosted an evening at the Country Bookshelf years ago. That event brought together authors and those who appreciate the written and spoken word, and was very successful.
Authors who will be participating include Elise Atchison, Marc Beaudin, Tim Cahill, Michael Earl Craig, Seabring Davis, Charlotte McGuinn Freeman, Jamie Harrison, Rick Lamplugh, Ralph Langer, Scott McMillion, Ilona Popper, Karen Reinhart, John Taliaferro, Maryanne Vollers, and Nan Weber. As the date nears, there may be more authors who join the event.
Books by participating authors will be available for purchase with book signing afterward.
The museum will be open one hour prior to the author event for participants to peruse the museum. The reading will take place on the second floor of the museum, necessitating the climbing of stairs. Wine and cheese and other refreshments will be provided.
