Park County is responsible for bridges over waterways and has been proactive in identifying long-ranges goals to create a system of interconnected trails throughout the County. Creating interconnected trails leads to more widespread use of existing infrastructure as neighborhoods and recreation areas are more readily accessible. The installation of a pedestrian bridge over the Yellowstone River in Gardiner, would connect United States Forest Service property to National Park Service property at Yellowstone National Park. The proposed bridge would provide users the opportunity to connect to several recreation areas through a multitude of activities (biking, hiking, walking, running, xc skiing, etc).
